We are having a good time in Phuket, South of Thailand. It's our 3rd wedding anniversary. I bought a package from Thailand Tourism a year ago at Patong Paragon Resort and Spa for 3days/2nights = 6,600baht($us220) including 2 ABF and Round Trip Airport-Hotel Transportation but we stayed longer than that at another place by the beach. I really love the view and the room of this resort. Room is clean and quiet. The staffs are very polite and have a very good customer service. We bought a pool access room which I can have my own entrance to the pool whenever I want to jump into the water The resort is located right by Patong Beach. You just walk across the street but it’s far to walk to “Bangla”

Bangla is an entertainment street where there are so many pubs and restaurants, shopping areas and night life. We visited there just to have something to eat and back to the resort. At the end of Bangla Street has a department store called “Jungcelon” We walked in for a fresh air con hahaha! Sooooooooo hot! Gosh!

We bought a flight ticket from Bangkok Airways. They have a promotion right before we left Bangkok. We spent only 5,700baht ($us190) for 2 person/round trip. Wow! I’m sure normal ticket price is more expensive than this. Bangkok Airways also has a very good service. They allowed you to use their lounge while you’re waiting for boarding. There are snacks and drinks available.

We took a one day and half day tour for sight seeing and swimming. We chose a speed boat for our tours. It was a great price for all of these tours. I’m very impressed. They didn’t charge us like they have the price in the brochure. There are so many counters selling sight seeing tour everywhere we walked.

We do a canoe tour, snorkeling, visiting many islands such as James Bond Island (where The James Bond Movie was filmed here) and Khai Island. I love spending time with my husband.

Talking about transportation in Phuket,of course, it’s more expensive than Bangkok. The taxi and took took will charge you minimum 200baht to start your journey. We paid 1,000baht to visit 3 beaches and a cape which I think it’s very reasonable price. The food was little bit higher. I felt bad because I knew how much each Thai food costs in Bangkok but I just have to live with it. It’s a Tourism Place. I expected that everything will be more expensive than in Bangkok.

Well, this trip made us happy. We would love to come back to Phuket in the future. My only problem is I got too tan skin now.

These are Corn Exfoliating Foot Scrub that I made. I used corn cob with menthol and eucalyptus oil in glycerin soap. First, I made several small heart soaps and unmold. Then, I placed those small heart soaps into another bigger heart mold. Then, pour the clear glycerin with corn cob on top. I added some vitamin E and Shea Butter so that it won’t make my feet too dry from using corn scrub. I know you can use sugar to make a sugar scrub but for my feet I want to use something that’s very rough

It’s an easy day and I ran out of soap. It’s hot and super hot. Don’t know what’s wrong with the weather here, By the way, A while ago, A friend of mine gave me some good quality of silkworm cocoon. She said this is a very expensive set of silkworm cocoon. If I’m not wrong she got it from japan. She asked me to try on my face and it’s really nice. I have some left and want to make some soap. This is a glycerin soap,so, it won’t take me too long.

My point is to make a silkworm cocoon soap but i want to add some nice additive,too. So, I added Vitamin E, Vitamin B5, Hydrolyzed Milk Protein, Licorice Extract and Oat Extract. I also added Menthol and Eucalyptus. So, it will make my skin feeling cool I will try it tonight.

My recipe:

289 grams Clear Glycerin Base
2 pieces Silkworm Cocoon
2 grams Licorice Extract
2 grams Oat Extract
1 gram Vitamin E
1 gram Vitamin B5
2 grams Hydrolyzed Milk Protein
1 gram Menthol Crystal
2 grams Eucalyptus Oil

How to make:

- Melt glycerin base in a double boiler pot until it becomes liquid
- Turn off the heat

- Measure Vitamin E, Vitamin B5, Licorice Extract, Oat Extract
- Measure Menthol and Eucalyptus Oil. Mix these two ingredients together.

- Pour Vitamin E, Vitamin B5, Licorice Extract and Oat Extract into the mixture and Stir.
- Pour Menthol and Eucalyptus Oil into the mixture and Stir.
- Make sure that you stir them well.

- Place the 2 silkworm cocoon in the mold or I choose to add silkworm cocoon into the pot so it will dissolve with the heat little bit, then, place them into the mold.
- Pour the mixture on top of Silkworm Cocoon. I don’t pour them all. I left some in the pot so I can add hydrolyzed milk protein.

- Measure Hydrolyzed Milk Protein and add into the mixture that you have left. Stir them together.
- Pour on top of the soap,so, it will separate color. It will become white when it finish.

I intended to imitate this batch from one of a Thai dessert called “BLACK COCONUT SWEET PUDDING” or in Thai we called “kanom paeak poon” The real one looks like the following pictures.

“BLACK COCONUT SWEET PUDDING” made from rice flour, tapioca flour, water, coconut shred, sugar, salt, and natural black color from burning coconut coir. It’s very yummy.

This soap batch was made from bamboo charcoal powder (to imitate black color from burning coconut coir), hydrolyzed milk protein and silkworm cocoon. I added white glycerin soap on top so that they looked like coconut shred. Used the slicer to slide white glycerin soap. To attach the coconut shred soap, I dropped some clear glycerin soap on top of the bamboo charcoal soap and sprinkle a bunch of coconut shred soap on top, so, it glued them together

I’m making this soap just want to finish my oils and prevent those oils from rancidity. I have some other batches, too. I will give them to monk and nun when I go meditation next time.

My inspiration came from Thai Ice Dessert which made from Tapioca Starch(pink and green color) in Coconut Milk and add Jack Fruit, Corn, Syrup and Ice. As soon as you finish making, it will look like this picture.

By the way, I made tomato soap and cucumber soap and still have some left,so, I sliced them and added into this batch.

My soap recipe is (800 grams)

240 grams Coconut Oil
240 grams Palm Kernel Oil
120 grams Rice Bran Oil
120 grams Soy Bean Oil
80 grams Canola Oil
2 drops Honey
10 grams Hydrolyzed Milk Protein
28 grams Fragrance (White Rose)
5 grams Titanium Dioxide

I don’t use too much of honey because it will make my soap get too soft and wet It will take a couple of week to dry the soap. I like this soap. Look Yummy!

Before I went to Hong Kong, There was a Travel Fair in Bangkok where you can buy cheap flight tickets and reasonable price hotels and resorts. My husband is lucky because he became a husband of a crazy Thai woman hahaha!! Sounds funny huh? The full price of this river cruise ticket is 1,300baht/person but I bought it for 700baht/person which it’s so cheap. We had a good night with good memory. The name of this river cruise company is “Chao Praya Princess” I really recommend if you’re travelling to Bangkok. It’s gorgeous sight seeing. You will be sitting, eating, listening for 2 hours, start from 19.30-21.30. Then, you don’t want to go back to your place. We were very impressed with the life brand on the cruise. I love them! They also sell picture of you for 200 baht. They take picture of you when you register at the pier. Why not? I bought it.

Khun poo is one of my customer who wants to become a soap making teacher. A while ago, I had a chance to give her a try. There was a dancing competition at the mall and the owner would like me to show how to make soap but I was busy that day. I called her up and she wanted to try. I provided her everything including equipments and materials. She just need to practice on how to teach in front of people.

After the show, the next day, I met people and they liked her soap. Khun poo made Insect Repellent Soap with Lemongrass Scent. This scent is super strong.

She told me that she used to study a class producing essential oil. Her teacher taught her how to make an essential oil from lemongrass and she had some left. So, she made this insect repellent soap using melt and pour technique. She only has 20 minute to show. I think she passed the test. Good Job!

When I was in Hong Kong with my husband, we were looking for some exit to get out of the subway train area. I acidentally found “Lush” As you know, we don’t have this shop in Thailand. I really like their products. I remembered myself going in this shop in Philippines one time when I worked with Marriott Vacation Club and we had a small meeting there. Smell very good from outside! My ex boss bought some body scrub and lotion.  She really loves it but back then, I have no interest in these stuffs 

What funny is I just want to take picture to post in my blog and write about how exciting I am when I found “Lush” I told my husband to take picture of me in front of the shop but the lady said “No picture taken, please” in very polite way and smile. hahahaha!!! I was so embarrassed but I’m not angry. I do understand they might have a policy. So, I looked quite funny in the picture because she interrupted us in the middle of our picture taking  hahaha. I found that funny!

I finally found you even though I have no chance to enter the shop. I have to fly 2 hours to see you How about that?

I was invited by my teacher (Khun Noi) to conduct a Lotion and Shower Gel Workshop at The Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok. I want to say “Thank you” to khun noi to give me an opportunity to conduct this class.

There are about 35 people from BASF Chemical Company. I was afraid of my English Speaking since it’s not my mother language and I’ve never ever spoken English in front of too many people like this before.

It made me more nervous when I knew that there are many nationalities in this group – Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Thai, American, Australian, European. Wow! My gosh! What am I gonna do? Will they understand me?

We started our class by making lotion first. I had them separated into 7 groups with 5 people in each group,so, it’s easy to make their own lotion and they can share and help each other.

The lotion class went well, then, we started to make a shower gel. If I have another chance to practice speaking English in front of many people like this, I’m sure I will get better. I just hope they enjoy and have a fun time, fun class with me.

At the end of the class, we had a game activity for them. I asked question about HOW TO?. If they can answer, they can choose and extra soap or lotion or shower gel with our cute label that we prepared for them.
